Independent Project Fountain

Reflection

The independent projects is a project where we had to create a physical product in the span of two weeks. Personally, I like this project as it gave me a chance to work with the one ability that I have very little control over: my fine motor skills. My project was to build a fountain that would have a realistic look to it. I believe I did really well on the art aspect as I worked really hard on painting, given my timeline.  In the aspect of science and tech, I believe I did well as I designed 3D models to be printed and painted; I made a water wheel, a boat, and a tree. In the end, this project did not turn out exactly like I had wished it to as I miscut and had not gotten to fully paint it with a rocklike texture.

I believe I did really well working independently on this project even if at times I did need some assistance. As for a timeline, I feel I did really well on pacing myself although I did get stressed when I learned I would only have an hour to paint on the seventh of June. I got stressed because I knew I wouldn’t have enough time to make the painting aspect of my project perfect. I believe next time I would have tried to calm down so my painting wasn’t as rushed and I would have made sure I cut a hole in the right place. I was extremely safe, I tried to have a positive attitude but that didn’t always happen. I worked hard constantly and I asked for help when needed.

In the end, this was a fun project that had many interesting aspects and quirky designs that tied this project together really well. I learned about 3D modeling, Styrofoam cutting, fine motor skills, and most importantly how tubing works. Working on this project, I realized it was a lot easier to make a fountain and use a heated wire then I had originally thought.  The actual creation and flaws of this project are very similar to management if you don’t manage yourself and your time how can you expect others to do the same. I am glad I was able to do something I had never thought possible with my hand tremor.
